Task Check-ins
Turn plans into visible cards, and let visible progress feed your motivation.
What it is
Task check-ins is a lightweight task board: it turns vague wishes like "I'll review calculus" into cards that are small enough to start and satisfying to cross off. Every completed card is real positive feedback.
How to use it
- Write the first physical action on each card: "open the textbook to page 45," not "review chapter 3."
- Keep each card under one focus cycle (25–50 minutes). If you can't estimate it, halve it again.
- Mark only 1–3 cards as "must do today." Finishing them beats spreading ten.
- Report your check-ins to your partner each evening — a plan spoken out loud is a plan.
Three ADHD-friendly tricks
- Pick tomorrow's first card the night before, removing the most expensive morning decision.
- Allow downgrades. On bad days, cut the card in half — don't skip it.
- Track progress, not perfection. Completing 7 of 10 days deserves praise — remembering this is what makes the system sustainable.
It pairs best with study rooms: create the card, join the room, cross it off to close the day.
